These terms apply to Sjakki on sjakki.no and in the Sjakki app for iOS. By using Sjakki you accept them. Short version: play chess, be kind, do not cheat.

The service

Sjakki is a free chess platform: puzzles, lessons, bots, live games and game review. No ads, no paywall. We work hard to keep the service running, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted uptime.

Accounts and age

Guest mode works without an account. Signing in (Apple or Google) preserves your progress across devices. If you are a child, ask a parent or guardian for help when signing in. How we handle data is described in the privacy policy.

Fair play

Using a chess engine or other assistance in rated games against people is cheating. We may revoke ratings and close accounts that cheat or abuse the service. Chat consists of preset friendly phrases only.

Content and rights

The Sjakki name, design, mascots and software belong to us. Your games are yours: you can export and share them freely.

Deletion and changes

You can delete your account at any time, with a 30 day grace period. We may update these terms; meaningful changes are announced on this page. Norwegian law applies.
